Off The Post #01 — Editorial Design by Laís Zanocco
Laís Zanocco and Estúdio Drama craft dynamic editorial design for Off The Post, pairing collage storytelling with bold sports typography.
Most sports magazines look the same. They rely on cold photo grids, stock match shots, and dull stat boxes. Off The Post takes a fresh path. For the debut issue of the British football magazine, Estúdio Drama built a lively visual system. Designers Laís Zanocco and Natalia Sayuri shaped a print layout full of life and speed. The issue opens with a cover story on Brazilian football heroes across four decades. Instead of stiff pages, the studio uses bright color blocks and angled crops. Mixed-media collages turn football history into living art. This playful editorial design brings real warmth and joy to the sport.
Collage Art and Dynamic Editorial Design
Bold typography anchors each story across the magazine. The studio pairs punchy display type with clean, open text columns. Big headlines for key features sit right over action photos. Large woodblock-style letters, playful cursive notes, and outlined titles give each story a distinct voice. Running heads, issue folios, and pull quotes sit on crisp colored rules. These simple guides keep busy spreads easy to read. By pairing big headline scale with clear text grids, the editorial design guides readers through long stories without visual clutter.
Handmade collage art gives the printed pages their tactile charm. For The Samba Generations, Zanocco puts cut-out photos of Pelé, Garrincha, and Ronaldinho into ornate gold frames. Torn paper shapes in gold, teal, and rust break across the neat page grids. In A History of Women’s Football, a winding timeline links thirteen key moments across pink and green panels. These physical layers turn the magazine into a collectible print keepsake. Through lively typography and collage craft, Estúdio Drama delivers an editorial design that celebrates the spirit of football.
