Brand Identity: Plom by Brand Brothers
Brand Brothers designed the Plom brand identity, translating athletic recovery and botanical energy into bold typography and modular geometry.
Founded by Toulouse venture V21, Plom is a functional recovery drink formulated with Gers-harvested hemp and oat milk to support post-workout muscle restoration. Developed in collaboration with the Agrotec food science center, the formulation balances vegetable proteins with essential fatty acids. To establish a distinct shelf presence in sports nutrition, Brand Brothers anchored the brand identity in regional heritage. The studio derived the name from Gascon, an ancient Occitan dialect where plom signifies balance—a linguistic nod to the French idiom être d'aplomb. Instead of default clinical white packaging or soft wellness pastels, Brand Brothers built an assertive visual system centered on graphic discipline, modular color combinations, and grounded athletic utility.
Brand Identity Architecture & Typographic Geometry
The cornerstone of the brand identity is an exclusive display logotype drawn with dense, heavy stems and expansive rounded counters. These customized letterforms project physical strength while rounded terminal transitions introduce ergonomic comfort. Rising directly above the wordmark is the brand symbol: a rhythmic set of concentric arches radiating outward to visualize the progressive release of botanical nutrition. Brand Brothers calibrated the glyph architecture on a strict modular grid, pairing the primary emblem with clean secondary sans-serif typesetting that structures technical product specifications, ingredient origins, and recovery metrics with editorial clarity across every application.
Rather than relying on a static corporate colorway, the identity operates through an adaptable combinatorial matrix. High-contrast pairings—warm marigold, sky blue, moss green, lilac, and deep charcoal—allow individual product flavors and athletic touchpoints to shift tone while maintaining unified brand recognition. The visual language extends across physical merchandise and training gear for the Plom Club, translating onto jacquard-knit athletic socks, screenprinted running apparel, and tactical delivery crates. This flexible graphic grammar delivers an enduring design language engineered for both retail visibility and modern endurance sports culture.
