Brand Identity: ODER-STUDIOS by Studio Gabriele Colia
A versatile brand identity for ODER-STUDIOS by Studio Gabriele Colia, featuring custom typography, a dynamic geometric symbol, and motion systems.
For ODER-STUDIOS, a creative studio spanning spatial design, production, and offline culture, the primary challenge lay in translating a community-driven ethos into a cohesive brand identity. Studio Gabriele Colia addressed this by designing a flexible brand identity system anchored by a stark black-and-white palette. At the heart of the system is a circular geometric emblem that shifts, deforms, and adapts to represent the idea of multitude and diversity. Rather than remaining a static graphic, the symbol functions as a dynamic mark that multiplies and recombines across different contexts. This approach establishes a clear, high-contrast visual signature that structures everything from digital layouts to physical event communications, ensuring consistency across every touchpoint.
Versatility in contemporary brand identity design
The typographic layout system showcases high grid discipline and sophisticated alignment. A custom typeface designed by Giuseppe Tangaro reinforces the theme of structured variation, featuring clean, robust letterforms that balance organic curves with geometric terminals. This bespoke display font scales effortlessly, driving the brand identity layouts from minimal headers on the website to complex editorial grids. Generous negative space allows the web interface to breathe, while high-contrast typographic pairings ensure that the text functions as a structural element rather than a simple label, highlighting the studio’s internal research.
In terms of digital execution, the identity relies heavily on motion design and 3D visual elements. Gabriele Colia directed the motion systems, while Obi Fidler provided 3D support, resulting in smooth digital transitions where the geometric emblem deforms and interacts with the typography in three-dimensional space. The brand identity behaves as a responsive digital ecosystem, adapting to mobile screens, web portfolios, and social media platforms. By avoiding generic templates, the studio created a bespoke visual language that feels structural, translating the energy of offline community events into a highly polished digital experience.
